Detailed 6-Day Uganda Fly-In Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park & Nature Walk

You will be welcomed by one of our driver guides, who will brief you about the trip and transfer you to the airstrip for your flight to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

The flight saves you from the long 9-hour drive from Kampala and gives you clear views of Uganda’s beautiful landscapes.

When you arrive at the lodge, enjoy some refreshments as you wait for lunch. In the evening, take a nature walk around the forest.

This walk brings you close to small details of nature that you may miss during a game drive or gorilla trek. It is a good way to spend your evening.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Community Visit

After breakfast, go to the park headquarters for a briefing, then begin your trek to find the mountain gorillas. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is home to over 700 gorillas, and most visitors have a high chance of seeing them.

The walk through the forest is rewarding, especially when you finally meet the gorillas. You will spend one hour with them, watching their behavior.

In the afternoon, visit the Batwa community. The Batwa were the first people to live in this forest before it became a national park.

You will enjoy traditional performances, taste local food, and learn how the Batwa hunted and gathered fruits. After this visit, return to the lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 3: Fly to Entebbe

After breakfast at your lodge, transfer to the nearby airstrip for your flight back to Entebbe International Airport. You will then be taken to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 4: Fly to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, check out and head to the airstrip for your flight to Murchison Falls National Park. This is Uganda’s largest national park, home to four of the Big Five animals: lions, leopards, buffaloes, and elephants.

Day 5: Game Drive & Boat Cruise

Start the day with breakfast, then go for a morning game drive in the northern part of the park. Here, you can see many of the 75 animal species that live in Murchison Falls.

In just a short time, you may spot buffaloes, elephants, lions, warthogs, oribis, Uganda kobs, and more.

In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on the Nile River. You will see hippos, crocodiles, water birds, and other animals like elephants and buffaloes coming to drink at the riverbanks.

Day 6: Fly Back to Entebbe

After breakfast, check out from the lodge and fly back to Entebbe. This marks the end of your 6-day Bwindi and Murchison flying safari.
