Detailed 5-Day Uganda Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Your Gorilla Hurly Burly driver picks you up from your hotel in Kampala and drives you toward Fort Portal, passing green countryside, tea plantations at Mpanga, and open swamp valleys. You stop for lunch in Fort Portal, then continue to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, you walk to Kanyanchu Visitor Center for registration and a briefing. Kibale Forest holds over 13 primate species near the Rwenzori Mountains, and you spend the morning tracking chimpanzees, watching them feed, play, and groom one another.

Along the way, you may also spot olive baboons, red-tailed monkeys, and black-and-white colobus monkeys. You spend one hour with the chimpanzees before returning to the lodge for lunch.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, you drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, stopping for lunch at Lake Bunyonyi along the way. Bwindi holds about 400 mountain gorillas across more than 20 groups open to tourists.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, you attend a briefing at the park offices before starting your trek with armed ranger guides and porters. Bring your passport, gorilla permit, drinking water, and a walking stick for the hike.

Once you find the gorillas, you spend one hour observing them, from mothers caring for babies to silverbacks keeping watch over the group. After the trek, you return to the lodge for lunch and rest, followed by a local dance performance in the evening.

Day 5: Return to Entebbe and Departure

After breakfast, you begin the drive back to Kampala through the Kigezi highlands, stopping for lunch along the way. Your driver drops you at Entebbe International Airport or your hotel in Kampala, ending your 5-Day Uganda Tour.
