Most gorilla families in Rushaga live at lower altitudes and in more open areas of the forest. Because of this, tourists can see gorillas within 1 to 3 hours of trekking.

Tourists can reach Rushaga by road using a 4×4 safari vehicle through the Kampala to Kabale route. This drive takes about 9 to 10 hours.

You can also fly from Entebbe International Airport to either Kihihi or Kisoro airstrips. The flight takes about 1 hour. You can book a scheduled or charter flight.

From Kigali, you can reach Rushaga through the Cyanika or Katuna border. This road trip takes about 4 to 5 hours.
