Detailed 4-Day Uganda Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Your Gorilla Hurly Burly guide meets you and briefs you on the 4-day tour before the 7 to 8-hour drive to southwestern Uganda. On arrival, you check in at your lodge for rest and dinner.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Visit to the Batwa Community
After an early breakfast, your guide takes you to park headquarters for a briefing, then into Bwindi Forest to find your assigned gorilla family, passing through thick vegetation and sometimes muddy trails. Once you find them, you spend one hour watching them play, feed, and care for their young.
After lunch at the lodge, you visit the Batwa community, the original inhabitants of Bwindi Forest before it became a national park in 1991. They share their traditions, including hunting, gathering, and fire-making. Dinner and overnight stay follow.
Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, Boat Ride and Island Visits
After breakfast, you drive to Lake Bunyonyi, Africa’s second deepest lake, home to 29 small islands including Punishment Island and Leprosy Island, each with its own story. After lunch, a boat ride takes you past several islands, with chances to spot otters, crayfish, and birds along the way. You return to the lodge for a relaxed evening by the water.
Day 4: Drive Back to Kampala
After breakfast, you check out and begin the drive back to Kampala, stopping at the equator in Kayabwe for photos and lunch before continuing to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight.
