Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Your Gorilla Hurly Burly driver meets you at Kigali International Airport for a short briefing before the drive to Volcanoes National Park. The journey takes about 3 hours through quiet countryside. You arrive in time for dinner and overnight stay near the rainforest.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
After an early breakfast, you head to Kinigi Park Headquarters for registration and a gorilla trekking briefing. Bring hiking boots, a long-sleeved shirt, long pants, a walking stick, packed lunch, and drinking water.
Trekking time varies from 30 minutes to 4 hours, depending on weather, gorilla movement, and food availability. Once you find your assigned gorilla group, you spend one hour watching them play, eat, and interact.
