Detailed 4-Day Uganda Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Welcome to the Pearl of Africa. Our company guide will meet you and give you a short briefing about the 4-day Bwindi gorillas and Lake Bunyonyi tour.
You will then begin your journey to southwestern Uganda, home to the mountain gorillas. The drive takes about 7 to 8 hours.
On arrival, check in at your lodge for rest and dinner.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking & Visit to the Batwa Community Visit
After an early breakfast, your driver-guide will take you to the park headquarters for a briefing by the rangers. You will then enter Bwindi Forest to begin the trek to find your assigned gorilla family.
As you walk through the forest, you will pass through thick vegetation, bamboo, vines, and sometimes muddy or slippery trails.
Once you find the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour watching them. You may see them play, feed, or care for their young. You can take photos and ask questions during this time.
After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch. In the evening, visit the Batwa community. The Batwa were the first people to live in Bwindi Forest until it became a national park in 1991.
They were moved to the edge of the forest and now share their culture with visitors. Learn how they used to live in the forest, including hunting, gathering, making fire, and other traditions.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, Boat Ride & Island Visits
After breakfast, drive to Lake Bunyonyi, Africa’s second deepest lake, located between Kisoro and Kabale districts near the Rwanda border.
The lake has 29 small islands, including Bucuranuka, Njuyera, Bwana, Punishment Island, and Leprosy Island. Each island has its own history.
After checking in at the lodge and having lunch, take a boat ride to visit some of these islands. You may also spot crayfish, otters, and many birds during the trip.
Return to the lodge to relax, have dinner, and enjoy the peaceful evening by the lake.
Day 4: Drive Back to Kampala
After breakfast, check out of the lodge and start your journey back to Kampala. Stop at the equator in Kayabwe for photos and lunch. Continue to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight.
