Detailed 3-Day Luxury Gorilla Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda, taking 2 hours by flight or 8 hours by road. If you travel by road, you stop at the equator, the line dividing the northern and southern halves of the earth, for coffee and a short lesson on life along the equator. You then continue to Mbarara for lunch before reaching Bwindi.
Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking
After breakfast, you head to park headquarters for a 7:30 AM briefing that lasts about 30 minutes, covering the rules for gorilla trekking. You then enter the forest to track mountain gorillas, a process that can take 2 to 8 hours depending on the group’s location. After trekking, you return to your lodge to rest.
Day 3: Transfer to Kampala
On your last day, you travel back to Kampala, taking the same 2-hour flight or 8-hour road route as Day 1. On arrival, you transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your flight home, or to a hotel if you need an overnight stay.
