Detailed 5-Day Uganda Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
In the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel in Kampala and driven to Fort Portal City. This town has some interesting places to see.
On the way, you will pass through green countryside along the Mityana–Mubende road, see tea plantations at Mpanga, and drive past open swamp valleys.
Stop in Fort Portal for lunch, then continue to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast, walk to the Kanyanchu Visitor Center for registration and a short briefing. Kibale Forest is near the Rwenzori Mountains and is home to over 13 types of primates, including chimpanzees, which you will be tracking.
Tracking chimpanzees, who are our closest relatives, is a very interesting activity. You will watch them feed, play, care for their young, and groom one another.
During the trek, you may also see other primates such as olive baboons, L’Hoest’s monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and some birds.
You will spend one hour with the chimpanzees before returning to the lodge for lunch.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, you will drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
You will stop for lunch at Lake Bunyonyi, then continue to Bwindi, home to endangered mountain gorillas.
Bwindi has about 400 mountain gorillas, and more than 20 groups can be visited by tourists.
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, go to the park offices for a briefing. You will begin your trek with armed ranger guides, porters, and other visitors who are in the same group.
Bring your passport, gorilla permit, enough drinking water, a walking stick, and a backpack to carry your items.
Once you find the gorillas, you will spend one hour watching them. You may see mothers caring for babies, silverbacks keeping watch, or young gorillas playing.
After trekking, return to the lodge for lunch and rest. In the evening, enjoy a local dance performance.
Day 5: Return to Entebbe & Departure
After breakfast, start the journey back to Kampala. You will pass through the Kigezi highlands and stop for lunch on the way. You will arrive in the evening.
Your driver will drop you off at Entebbe International Airport or your hotel in Kampala. This is the end of your 5-day Uganda tour.
