He will explain the safari plan and give you all the documents, receipts, and gorilla permits. Then you will drive north to Volcanoes National Park.

When you arrive at the lodge, you will be welcomed with a meal and spend the night there.

Day 2: First Gorilla Trekking and Boat Ride on the Twin Lakes

Start your day with breakfast at 6:00 am. By 6:30 am, you will head to the park headquarters for registration and a briefing. You will meet other trekkers and be assigned a gorilla group.

The trek can take from 30 minutes to 6 hours, depending on where the gorillas are. Once you find them, you will spend one hour watching them.

A park ranger will help you take good photos and guide you through the experience.

After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and a short rest.

In the afternoon, go for a boat ride on the Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. These lakes are at the base of Mount Muhabura, near the Rwanda-Uganda border.

They are separated by a narrow strip of land and are home to many bird species. After the ride, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay with views of the Virunga Mountains.

Day 3: Second Gorilla Trekking and Cultural Visit

After breakfast, return to the park headquarters for your second gorilla trek. This time, you will visit a different gorilla group.

After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and some rest.
