Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You leave Entebbe early at 7:00 AM with your Gorilla Hurly Burly driver, passing through small towns and green farmland along the way. You stop for lunch en route, then continue to Bwindi, checking in at your lodge to rest on arrival.
In the evening, you can visit the Batwa community, learning how they once made fire, hunted, and gathered food in the forest. You watch traditional dances, listen to their songs, and can try local food if you’d like.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early breakfast, your guide takes you to the park office for a short briefing before you join a group of eight for the trek. The walk takes you through thick forest, steep hills, and slippery paths, sometimes holding onto branches for balance.
Once you find the gorillas, you spend one hour with them, watching them eat, play, and rest, including the silverback and younger members of the group. Photos are welcome, but flash photography is not allowed.
