Detailed 3-Day Uganda Fly-In Gorilla Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Start your day with an early breakfast and transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your flight to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda.

The flight takes about 2 hours, so you avoid the long road journey. You will arrive before or after noon, depending on your flight time, and have lunch at your safari lodge.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking

After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing at 7:30 AM. The briefing lasts about 30 minutes. During this time, you will be divided into groups before beginning your trek into the forest.

Gorilla trekking can take between 2 and 8 hours, depending on how quickly you find the gorillas.

You will spend one full hour with the gorillas before returning to the lodge for a late lunch.

Day 3: Batwa Experience & Transfer to Kampala

Note that the Batwa Experience is different from the Batwa Cultural Trail.

This experience lasts longer and takes place in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. You will leave Bwindi by 7:00 AM to arrive at Mgahinga by 8:30 AM.

Here, you will spend time with the Batwa people, visit their caves, watch their dances, meet their herbalists, and learn about their way of life.

After the experience, you will drive back to catch your afternoon flight to Entebbe.
