Day 1: Arrival in Kigali, Rwanda
Your Gorilla Hurly Burly guide meets you at the airport and explains the trip ahead. You drive to the lodge for refreshments, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 2: Kigali City Tour and Drive to Volcanoes National Park
After coffee, you take a Kigali city tour, visiting local markets and the Genocide Memorial site, which honors over 250,000 victims of the 1994 conflict. After lunch, you drive 2 to 3 hours to Volcanoes National Park in the Virunga range. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking
At around 6:00 AM, you drive to park headquarters for a briefing and gorilla family assignment. The trek takes 1 to 5 hours depending on the gorillas’ location, and you spend one hour observing them. After lunch, an optional cultural visit is available in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Dian Fossey Hike and Twin Lakes Exploration
After breakfast, you hike to the grave of Dian Fossey, the zoologist known for her gorilla conservation work, spotting primates and rare trees along the way. After lunch, you visit the Twin Lakes for canoeing and photography. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Depart Rwanda to Arusha, Tanzania

Day 6: Arusha City Tour and Depart to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you tour Arusha city, including the museum and local markets. You then drive 4 to 5 hours to Tarangire National Park. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Game Drive and Transfer to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you take a morning game drive in Tarangire, spotting buffaloes, lions, leopards, and antelopes. After lunch, you transfer to Serengeti National Park. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8: Full Day Game Drives
You spend the day on game drives across the Serengeti, spotting lions, leopards, elephants, cheetahs, zebras, and wildebeest. You have a bush breakfast and picnic lunch, then a sunset drive back to the lodge.
Day 9: Cultural Encounter with the Maasai People

Day 12: Fly to Zanzibar

Day 13: Stone Town Tour
After coffee, you explore Stone Town, visiting local markets, the Wonder House, Dr. Livingstone’s house, and sites tied to the island’s slave trade history. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 14: Morning Primate Trekking and Spice Plantation Tour
After breakfast, you visit Jozani Chwaka Forest, home to the rare Zanzibar colobus monkeys, for 1 to 5 hours of trekking. After lunch, you visit a spice plantation to see and taste nutmeg, ginger, and cinnamon. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 15: Beach Day
You spend the day on white sand beaches, swimming and taking boat rides. Lunch and dinner are served at the beach or lodge.
Day 16: Departure
After breakfast, you transfer to the airport for your flight home.
