Gorilla Trekking on Christmas Day – A Unique Festive Experience

Gorilla trekking on Christmas Day gives tourists a chance to celebrate the festive season while meeting some of the most intelligent creatures on earth.
On Christmas morning, tourists leave their lodge after a hearty breakfast and begin a life-changing journey to the park. The drive to the park headquarters is rewarding, with views of the ancient forest and the fresh air from the towering trees.
When tourists arrive at the park headquarters, they are welcomed by park guides who brief them on the park rules and what to expect during the trek.

Park rangers then form groups of eight people, each group assigned to trek a specific gorilla family.
Once ready, tourists begin the long-awaited adventure, following trails into the ancient forest. Since Christmas falls in December, which is usually dry, the trails are dry and easier to walk.
Trekkers may see other forest animals and hear birds singing as they walk through the forest, adding to the excitement of the day.
After walking for some time, depending on the trail and terrain, trekkers finally meet the gentle giants, the mountain gorillas. They will see the gorillas feeding on leaves, stems, and fruits, with the silverback guarding the group.
The guide will explain the gorillas’ behaviors, interactions, and how they communicate, making the experience even more enjoyable and memorable for the trekkers.
It is important for trekkers to keep a safe distance from the gorillas to avoid disturbing them. The time allowed with the gorillas is one hour, and when it ends, tourists are guided back to the park headquarters, filled with joy and the spirit of the festive season.
After completing the trek, each visitor is given a gorilla trekking certificate to mark their contribution to gorilla conservation.
Gorilla trekking on Christmas Day is a special way to celebrate the festive season while enjoying a meaningful wildlife experience.
