Detailed 6-Day Uganda Fly-In Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your Gorilla Hurly Burly guide meets you at the airport or your hotel, briefs you on the trip, and transfers you to the airstrip in Entebbe for your scheduled or chartered flight to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Community Walk

After an early breakfast, you head to park headquarters for a briefing, then join a group of eight assigned to a gorilla family. The trek involves walking through thick, sometimes steep and slippery forest to reach the group.

Once you find them, you spend one hour watching their daily activities, from young gorillas playing to the silverback keeping watch. After lunch, an optional cultural visit with the Batwa people covers their history, traditional dances, and local food.

Day 3: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Boat Ride

After breakfast, you drive about 4 hours to Queen Elizabeth National Park through the Ishasha sector, known for tree-climbing lions. After lunch at your lodge, you take a boat ride on the Kazinga Channel, connecting Lake Edward and Lake George and home to hippos, crocodiles, and water birds.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After an early breakfast, you take a game drive through the park, looking for elephants, buffaloes, and lions, with views of the park’s crater lakes along the way. After lunch, you drive to Kibale Forest National Park, passing views of the Rwenzori Mountains before arriving in the evening.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Wetland Walk

After breakfast, you attend a briefing before entering the forest to track chimpanzees, a trek that takes about 3 to 5 hours. Once you find them, you watch them play and interact, with chances to spot monkeys and forest elephants along the way. After lunch, a nature walk through Bigodi Wetland rounds out the day with more birds and primates.
