Detailed 6-Day Uganda Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Fly to Bwindi, Nkuringo Sector, Afternoon Nature Walk
After breakfast, your Gorilla Hurly Burly driver-guide picks you up and transfers you to Entebbe International Airport for a scheduled flight to Bwindi, saving you a 9-hour road trip. On arrival, you check in at your lodge for refreshments and lunch, then take a nature walk to see the forest’s plants, birds, and insects, with a chance of spotting forest elephants or primates.
Day 2: Nkuringo Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Rushaga Sector
After breakfast, you attend a briefing at park headquarters and join a group of eight for your first trek. The hike can take 1 to 8 hours over rough, slippery paths depending on the gorillas’ location. After lunch, you visit the Batwa people, learning about their traditional hunting, fire-making, and cooking methods. Dinner and overnight stay follow.
Day 3: Rushaga Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After an early breakfast, you head back to park headquarters for a second trek, tracking a different gorilla family. Once you find them, you spend one hour observing and photographing the group. In the late afternoon, you drive to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale and take an evening boat ride around some of its 29 islands.
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Ruhija Sector and Transfer to Buhoma Sector
After breakfast, you drive to park offices for a briefing before your third trek, this time in the Ruhija sector. After the trek, you continue to the Buhoma sector and check in at your lodge for the night.
Day 5: Buhoma Gorilla Trekking
Today marks your fourth and final trek, taking place in Buhoma, the oldest gorilla trekking area in Bwindi. After the trek, you return to your lodge to rest and reflect on the experience.
Day 6: Fly to Entebbe
After breakfast, your driver takes you to Kihihi Airstrip for your domestic flight back to Entebbe International Airport, ending your 6-Day Uganda Tour.
